Bill Luther
Bill Luther serves as Co-Chair on the Board of the Office of Congressional Conduct, having been appointed to the Board on December 23, 2021. From 1995 to 2003 he was a member of the U.S. Congress representing the 6th District of Minnesota. He served as Regional Democratic Whip and on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
Since Congress, Bill has been a mediator with Gilbert Mediation Center Ltd. in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and has also worked as an attorney and government relations consultant.
Prior to Congress, Bill was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1974 and then served in the Minnesota State Senate from 1977-94 where for 10 years he was the Senate's Assistant Majority Leader.
Bill was raised on a dairy farm near Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He received both his Engineering and Law Degrees with honors from the University of Minnesota where he also served as an Editor of the Minnesota Law Review. Before entering politics, he was a judicial clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals in the Eighth Circuit, served as a prosecuting attorney, and also practiced business law with the Dorsey law firm in Minneapolis.
