Summer Law Clerk 2026

The Office of Congressional Conduct (OCC), an independent, non-partisan investigative entity established by the United States House of Representatives, seeks two rising second or third-year law students for a ten-week, paid legal internship in Washington, DC.

The law clerk will perform legal research and analysis on issues related to ethics allegations and will assist the OCC’s investigative staff across various phases of the office’s investigations. This may include designing investigative plans, drafting memos, reviewing documents, assisting in the interview of witnesses, and other investigative tasks.

Candidates should demonstrate strong legal judgment and professional integrity, advanced written and oral communication skills, and careful attention to detail.  While no direct background in investigative or anti-corruption work is required, demonstrated professional or academic interest in investigations, ethics, campaign finance, or government accountability will be considered.
