On December 1, 2025, the Office of Congressional Conduct transmitted a referral to the Committee on Ethics of the United States House of Representatives regarding Rep. Nancy Mace.
Nature of the Review
Rep. Mace may have engaged in improper reimbursement practices under the House reimbursement program by seeking reimbursements that exceeded her reimbursable expenses incurred. If Rep. Mace engaged in improper reimbursement practices, then she may have violated House rules, standards of conduct, and federal law.
OCC Recommendation
The Board recommends that the Committee further review the above allegation concerning Rep. Mace because there is substantial reason to believe that Rep. Mace engaged in improper reimbursement practices.
Committee Action
On January 16, 2026, the Committee on Ethics released a statement indicating it would extend the matter regarding Representative Nancy Mace pursuant to Committee Rule 17(a).
On March 2, 2026, the Committee on Ethics released a statement announcing it would continue to gather the information necessary to complete its review. The Committee published the OCC report and findings and announced the allegations would be further reviewed pursuant to Committee Rule 18(a).
